Digital Imaging Beats The Broader Market


Forbes.com's Infoimaging Index has outpaced the S&P 500 by nine percentage points since its December 2002 inception.

The index, which is charted below, tracks the industry that's taking shape as digital imaging and information technology converge. Included are companies like Apple Computer (nasdaq: AAPL - news - people ), Hewlett-Packard (nyse: HP - news - people ), Eastman Kodak (nyse: EK - news - people ), Adobe (nasdaq: ADBE - news - people ) and graphics-chip maker NVIDIA (nasdaq: NVDA - news - people ).

All together, the index is a market-cap weighted group of 58 companies that had market values of at least $50 million, sales greater than $100 million and share prices of $1 or more at the time the index was generated in July 2003. The index is updated weekly and appears here every Monday.
