John Dvorak: Inside Track v24n11
What's Next for Digital Cameras? I have noticed
that over the past year or two not much has happened to digital cameras, except
that a couple of obvious roadblocks have been plowed into. The top of the list
is Sony's diminutive 8-megapixel sensor, which has been getting a lukewarm
reception for producing flat-looking pictures. Most of the camera makers did
something weird by simultaneously introducing the next generation of cameras
with 7.1MP, thus going down in pixel count for the first time ever.
