Apple finally realizes mice can have more than one button


So what if they're ten years late to the party? Apple has released its new US$50 Mighty Mouse, which is the first multibutton mouse the company has ever shipped. While Mac OS X (and OS 8 and 9 before it) has supported contextual menus from the beginning, Apple stubbornly insisted on form over function when it came to its plastic pellet-shaped mice. Mac users who wanted to avoid reaching for the Control key each time they wanted to right-click were forced to shell out extra for another mouse.
