World Press Photo Exhibition arrives in Sydney this June
Canon Australia has announced that the winners of
the most prestigious international contest in professional press photography ,
World Press Photo, will be exhibited in Australia in June 2005.
The exhibition, which is brought to Sydney by World
Press Foundation global sponsor, Canon , showcases a range of extraordinarily
provocative images communicating emotions that transcend the power of words.
From harrowingly graphic and confronting, to poignantly beautiful and humorous,
the exhibition inspires every human emotion.

Winning World Press Photo of the Year 2004 is the
poignant image of a woman mourning the death of a relative killed in the Asian
tsunami. Reuters photographer Arko Datta captured the devastating scene in Tamil
Nadu, India on 28 December 2004.
