Black-and-white phoenix
In August 2004, Ilford Imaging UK Ltd. – the
name synonymous with black-and-white film and paper – went into
receivership. That was hardly surprising in a world revelling in the transition
from conventional to digital photography. More surprising, and pleasantly so,
was the fact a team of dedicated people succeeded earlier this year in rescuing
a specialist niche business from the Ilford ashes.
