NEW WINDSOR, N.Y., September 2005 – GretagMacbeth, the worldwide leader in color measurement technology and color management solutions, has been chosen as the preferred measuring device supported by the Global Color Exchange (GcX) quality management software offered by ColorMetrix Technologies, LLC. ColorMetrix GcX is a web-based reporting system that uses spectral data to qualify proofs in a color-managed workflow. A certified proof becomes the baseline and all subsequent proofs produced are measured against a standard using the GretagMacbeth Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer and a set target of color patches. Using the Eye-One Pro ensures that this process is quick, easy and accurate.

The GcX server enables users to store measured data for specific jobs. Since the data is spectral-based, users can adjust the measured colors to be displayed under a simulated light source.
By using the Eye-One Pro ambient light measurement feature, the functionality of the GcX software can be expanded to display colors under the user’s actual lighting conditions.
