New company takes over Kodak third-party minilab consumables business in AustraliaKodak Australasia Pty. Ltd. has sold its third
party minilab consumables business to a new business group - Australian Photo
Supplies Pty. Ltd., headed by current APS Operations Manager Robert Dessmann.
Dessmann and Kodak aim to ensure that there is a seamless transfer of ownership
so Kodak's existing onsite and mass customers will not be inconvenienced, Photo
Imaging Council of Australia (PICA) reports.
"I'd like to propose a win-win partnership by
continuing to provide a valuable back-of-store service for the photo retailer
but also seek and implement new ways to increase store traffic and
profitability," Dessman says.
APS Pty. Ltd. will continue to provide the current product range with plans for expansion of some new products early in 2006. Dessman and his team will send out a catalog just in time for Australia's summer and Christmas sales period. APS Pty. Ltd, will move their operations from the current site within the Kodak Coburg complex to a new warehouse and showroom facility at Somerton, 15 minutes from the present Kodak site, and will be open for business Oct. 3.
