Press Release: Lexar Introduces JumpDrive Secure II Featuring Sleek Design and New Software Including Encrypted Vault and File ShredderSept. 27, 2005--Lexar Media, Inc. (Nasdaq:LEXR), a
leader in advanced digital media and accessories, today announced the
availability of JumpDrive Secure II, a second generation USB flash drive
featuring 256-bit AES Encryption to secure folders and files so consumers can
easily store and protect valuable files, data and images.
JumpDrive Secure II offers a dashboard onscreen
interface that makes it easy for consumers to navigate the drive's advanced
security features. Users can quickly create secure files on either the USB flash
drive or on the host computer using the new unique 'Encrypted Vault' feature.
Simply drag and drop files into the 'Encrypted Vault' to automatically secure
them with on-the-fly 256-bit AES Encryption. When files are dragged out of the
'Encrypted Vault' they are automatically decrypted.
Another new feature of the Secure II software is the
File Shredder that discards files including the 'digital trail' normally left
behind when files are deleted. Files that have been deleted using the File
Shredder feature are wiped out and cannot be recovered by file recovery
tools.
"The market for USB flash drives continues to grow at
a rapid pace, and with increasing storage size, performance and acceptance of
USB flash drives comes the need for innovative solutions to secure and control
access to data," said Steffen Hellmold, Vice President and General Manager USB
flash drive & OEM Products business unit, Lexar. "JumpDrive Secure II offers
consumers an incredibly easy to use file encryption and decryption function, as
well as a unique file shredding feature across both Windows and Macintosh
platforms - all in a new stylish design."
JumpDrive Secure II offers a sleek design that is
about half the size of its predecessor, allowing for the best fit in virtually
all USB ports. For total versatility and flexibility, JumpDrive Secure II
software works on Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP, SP1 and SP2, Windows XP Home
Edition SP1 and SP2, as well as Mac OS 10.2.7 or later versions, allowing
consumers to access their secured files across Windows and Macintosh
platforms.
JumpDrive Secure II will be available in 256MB, 512MB,
1GB and 2GB capacities.
