Photo Imaging Market China rises
Unit sales of traditional film cameras in China
rose 38% year-on-year in 2004 as a result of the “camera seeding”
program being aggressively promoted by Kodak and other major sensitized product
manufacturers. Film sales also rose, although only 5.8% as heavy film users in
the Eastern Coastal cities switched their photography activities to digital. At
the same time, sales of Digital Still Cameras jumped 233%. Other
products/services reviewed include: color photographic paper and chemistry,
minilabs, kiosks, online finishing, and minilab shop operations. These are some
of the conclusions of the comprehensive 41-page report from Photofinishing News,
entitled The Photo-Imaging Market In China - 2005.
